This dresser was stored in the client’s shed for several years. It was brought in for repair and refinishing because of moisture related problems.
There was lifted veneer throughout, and it was covered in mildew. It also had adsorbed so much moisture that the drawers were swollen shut. It took a couple weeks with the dresser placed next to a dehumidifier before I was able to pull the drawers out of the case.

I re-glued the lifted veneer and replaced the missing pieces. Loose joints to the case were also glued.
The dresser was then stripped, sanded, stained, and finished with several coats of lacquer. The new finish was then rubbed and waxed.
Here are some before and after photos.

With the dresser refinished, the nicely figured walnut and maple veneer is clearly seen.
