This kitchen table refinishing project was one of many items from a home that was water damaged.
The table and six matching chairs are made of bamboo wood. All of which had been damaged and needed service.
Refinishing the table top began with removing the old finish with a furniture stripper. The top was then sanded and a light stain was applied. Once dry, several coats of lacquer were applied to create a finish. This new finish was then rubbed and waxed.
The legs and apron to the table were in good condition, and only needed touch up and polishing.
As for the six chairs, the water stained seats were removed (screws underneath) and refinished. The frames were cleaned, touched up and polished. The seats were then re-installed.
This kitchen table was refinished for a Millbrook NY client.
